THE ONLY ONE
TO REMIND US OF THE
FORGOTTEN WAR
The background you see is the headlines of the day when Frederick N. Larivee's death was mentioned in the newspaper. Not one story on the front page spoke of the
Korean War. Frederick N. Larivee and another serviceman have a picture and a small caption telling of their death on a page inside the paper but no mention of any operation they were involved with or how they met their death.
Frederick N. Larivee was the only name on the
Original Wall Unit at Hackensack High School, other than World War II veterans, to have his name listed on the Veterans Wall Unit. His name sat alone under Korean War with a gold star next to it looking odd, almost out of place, but yet so important because it reminded all not to forget the servicemen's sacrifice.
